Live inside the Renaissance

The oldest hotel of Florence, the Grand Hotel Porta Rossa, located in the Palazzo Bartolini, is closed untill the end of 2008. He will soon offer to you his historical rooms, in the heart of the city.

Built by Baccio d'Agnolo at the beginning of XVI century, the Palazzo Bartolini occupies the site of a previous hotel, probably going back to XII century (first mention of it in 1386). Integrating a tower of XII century, the Torre dei Monaldi, the Hotel Porta Rossa allows you to discover the city and the district differently. Its Renaissance decoration is completed by the XXth century stained glasses, Ulisse De Matteis work. Like its world renowned neighbors, palazzo Davanzati, palazzo Strozzi and others, it took part in all the historical vicissitudes of the city, enabling men of letters or sword, diplomats or soldiers, scientists or writers, to have an accomodation in the city center, 200 meters away from the piazza della Signoria and the Ponte Vecchio, at a few minutes from the Duomo and Palazzo Pitti.

He is soon waiting for you!
